Liverpool's got some damn fine hotels

But what about its hotels?

Here are three which should be considered should you decide to head to Merseyside for a domestic city break. First off there's the Hope Street Hotel. If you want a good boutique hotel with all the (now standardised) added extras a modern boutique hotel has to offer then come here. Because it’s really all about the location with this joint. Located in the Georgian quarter the Hope Street Hotel offers majestic views via the Anglican and Catholic cathedrals and a fine eatery downstairs called the Carriageworks. Prices start from the princely sum of £140 per night (but that’s really only going to go up the more boutique hotels you source.)

The second is the much awaited Hard Day’s Night Hotel. Costing a reported twenty million pounds to piece together and just closing its first year of business, the four star hotel is a Beatle’s themed adventure which is sure to fulfil any dedicated Beatle head's needs. Located on Matthew Street the hotel is a grade II listed building so it already has plenty to admire on the exterior. Inside though is a series of one off artworks and memorabilia from the days when love was free. It costs from £170per night upwards and is worth every penny. It plays host to two bars and two restaurants both of high quality. The menus in the restaurants are both of a modern British cuisine design and to be quite honest you wouldn’t have it any other way in a Beatle’s themed hotel.

Last but not least is The Print Hotel. Just round the corner from the Hard Day’s Night and still on Matthew St, The Print was originally designed as a Tea Warehouse lending its name from the oh so 1960’s printing presses that were in vogue at a time of both physical and intellectual rebellion. The owners sank 5 very large millions in to this project and boy does it show. The first floor is a bar that joins Stanley Street and Rainford Gardens and it isn’t until guests reach the first floor do they get the opportunity to chow down in the oak finished dining area. The rooms available are all refreshingly different with loft style penthouse suites available with all the necessary mod-cons. Watch out for the decoration however, it can be a little in your face let’s say.
