The airport is located 32km east from the city of Abu Dhabi. Three major roads link the airport with Abu Dhabi city, Highway 30, Highway 2 and Highway 8. All three merge to form the E10 on the approach to the airport. Public transport is also available from the airport, Bus 901 connects central Abu Dhabi with the airport, departing at hourly intervals from outside the arrivals areas. Etihad operates a free bus connection for its passengers between the airport and Dubai.
