Luckily airport hotels are often actually quite good and if the airport has made the mistake with your flight then you will be staying free, yeay! All of the large airports have there own hotels just next to the airport for this exact circumstance.

Generally they are good, clean and spacious bedrooms and they will have everything you need to make your stay a comfortable one. You are also guaranteed a wake-up service to make sure you don't miss your connecting flight.

Even if it wasn't a disaster with the airport that has you waiting for a flight, a hotel is much better than hanging around the airport for 8 hours. These hotels won't cost you an arm and a leg and they offer a level of security that is much higher than strapping your bag to your leg while you try to catch some shut-eye in the terminal. They also generally have decent food and a bar that you can unwind at. One thing to note though, don't get carried away at the bar or you won't be going anywhere!

If you need a last minute hotel or simply don't want to hang around the airport for hours, an airport hotel is a great way to relax before the next flight.
