All you need to know about Rome flights

Rome is served by two airports, the Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Fiumicino and the smaller Ciampino Airport. The Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Fiumicino is a major international airport and is located 32km outside of Rome. The airport caters for intercontinental flights along with national and European flights. The easiest way to get into Rome from the Leonardo da Vinci Airport is to take the Leonardo Express, a direct train service to Rome's main railway station, Stazione Termini. Tickets are €11 and are one way only. The service runs every 30 minutes from 6.30 am to 11.30 pm. For taxis, the authorities in Rome have capped the fare to a maximum of €40 from the airport to anywhere in central Rome.

The Ciampino Airport is a small military airport which has been developing its passenger terminal since it began accommodating budget airlines. Both Easyjet and Ryanair fly into Ciampino Airport. There is a limited amount of services and entertainment in the airport. The quickest way to get into Rome is to take the Terravision bus which connects Ciampino Airport with Stazione Termini. Tickets cost €8 one way and €14 return while the journey takes roughly 40 minutes. The cap on taxi fares applies from Ciampino Airport also and in this case the maximum fare is €30 euro.
