Book your flight to Vienna for this summer

Not as many low cost airlines as you would expect fly to Vienna from the UK, so flights to Austria can be costly. Easyjet, for example, fly to Vienna only from London Gatwick and Luton airports, while BmiBaby fly there from London Stansted and Manchester, with prices varying depending on the offers available.

British Airways certainly offers a greater choice as it flies from all major UK airports but you will have to be prepared to pay a bit more with prices starting at about 155GBP return.

Vienna airport is centrally and conveniently located. You can easily reach the city centre by City Airport Train (CAT), suburban railway known as S-Bahn, bus or taxi. The CAT service operates frequently from early in the morning till late at night and only takes 16 minutes to reach Central Vienna. A single ticket costs 10EUR. The S-Bahn runs every 30 minutes, takes 24 minutes to reach Wien Mitte station in the city and costs 3.60EUR one way. A taxi from the airport to the city centre costs approximately 32EUR in a standard car for up to four passengers.
