Bruges City Breaks

Located in Flanders in Belgium, Bruges is predominated by Dutch speakers but English is widely understood. The city itself is extremely picturesque and offers tourists a very picturesque place in which to wander around and enjoy the sites of this old city.

In terms of access, it is not difficult or expensive to travel to Bruges and for city breaks; it is very close to the UK. There are a large number of operators flying direct to Brussels from which a short train ride will leave you in the heart of Bruges. There is also a regular shuttle bus which travels throughout the day on a round trip from Brussels. Ryanair are the best low cost carrier flying to Brussels and often have great offers. But, as always, check out a number of the carriers to get the best price.

So what is there to see and do in Bruges? Well to start there is the Groeninge Museum, which hosts a fantastic collection of fine art. The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a really beautiful church which has incredible architecture and is said to contain a vile of the blood of Jesus Christ. If you are a chocolate lover, then why not visit the Choco-Story Museum, a fantastic insight into the world of chocolate. Whatever you do you will not find this charming little city wanting for a perfect city break.
