Fly to Bangkok for 20 euro! Go to www.ryanair.com and fly down to Rome for as little as 10 quid. You'll land at Ciampino before getting on a bus to zip across the city to the main hub, Fiumicino, which by airport standards is a total dive, looking more like a dirty metro station than an International Airport in one of the most frequented cities in the world (in May 2008 two million tourists stayed in Rome alone, with the yearly estimate around 10 million: Check it out.). But get past the hoardes of tourists and beautiful locals and you'll arrive at the Blue Panorama Airlines check-in desk, an airline which operates under Blu Express and officially gets you from Rome to Bangkok for a sweet 20 euros, plus about 100 euros in tax. Be quick though - flights fill in a jiffy and most are last-minute deals. If you're wanting a bit more luxury during your 12 hour flight, choose 'five star luxury' and go Qatar Airways (http://www.qatarairways.com/global/en/homepage.html). They fly to Bangkok out of London Gatwick and London Heathrow, via Doha, for around 300 quid one way, and 450 return. Otherwise Air Berlin and Gulf Air can get you to Bangkok without breaking the bank - both airlines have return flights around the 500 pound mark.
