The Cathedral is the main tourist attraction in Murcia. Built between 1394 and 1465 in the Castilian Gothic style, its full name is the Cathedral of the Diocese of Cartagena.

The tower was completed in 1792 and as a result, the building shows a range of architectural styles from Renaissance and Rococo to Neoclassical and Baroque. The Holy Week procession hosted by the city is also famous across Spain and beyond as is the colourful Huerta Parade held a week after Easter.
