Luxury hotels in Morocco

You won't be short of choice when it comes to deciding on an itinerary for your holiday in Morocco. Most visitors arrive in the country via the port town of Tangier.

From there, that famous coastal town of Casablanca is a draw for many tourists - for its cultural significance as well as for its beautiful whitewashed buildings stemming from colonial times.  For the experience of a buzzing ancient North African city, the inland cities of Marrakesh or Fez are well worth a visit.

If it's peace and quiet you're looking for, consider visiting some of the pretty sun-bleached fishing villages along Morocco's Atlantic coast, such as Essaouira. Or better still, head to the remote areas in Morocco's desert regions.

You can live like a Berber in the remote Atlas mountains and stay in a Berber village, go camel trekking in the Sahara, or use your own two feet by trekking some of the many trails in the High Atlas mountains. You could even attempt to conquer Jebel Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa.

If you're planning to visit Marrakesh, we suggest staying in a Moroccan riad, which is a traditional house or palace with a courtyard or interior garden. There are many atmospheric and charming riads to choose from:

  • Riad El Cadi - One of the most sumptuous riads in Marrakesh, this used to be an ambassador's residence and is located in the Medina. We recommend staying in one of the impeccable suites.
  • Riad Al Jazira - A cheaper option, but very popular. Rooms are simply decorated and there are three interior courtyards, one with a pool.

These are just a sample of some of the many wonderful Morocco and Marrakesh hotels.
