Madeira flights

Lying in the North Atlantic Ocean and one of the very furthest tips of the European Union is the spectacular Portugese island of Madeira. It is a haven for tourists with its fabulous beaches stretching around the island and wonderful Mediterranean climate. Madeira Airport is located in the city of Santa Cruz, 16km to the north of Funchal. To reach the airport by road follow the Via Rapida (R101), with a journey from the centre of Funchal taking only 15 minutes. There are plenty of car parking spaces available at the airport and walkways provide comfortable passage from the car parks to the passenger terminal.

Buses run hourly from the airport into Funchal city centre during the day, while taxis can be easily picked up from outside the terminal building. Car rental providers are also well represented at the airport. There are 2 hotels located in Santa Cruz, Vila Gale Santa Cruz and Hotel Santa Catarina, within 5km of the airport, if you need to stay closeby overnight.
