Mallorca holidays – click here to find out more Palma is a cosmopolitan city full of ancient architecture – go and see the magnificent cathedral – and glitzy restaurants, bars and shops.
To the north of the island is Porto Pollenca – very much the Brits abroad hang-out where you can get a fry up breakfast and egg and chips for tea. It is very much worth heading up into the mountains for the views alone from the highest point of Puig Major over the Mediterranean – absolutely stunning, and of course a bit cooler. The majority of the beach resorts are to the south and east of the island. Porto d’Andraitx has been adopted by the rich and famous and Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas amongst others are known to own properties there. There are frequent daily flights from all main airports to Palma at reasonable rates. Check out Easyjet for a good deal. There is also plenty of accommodation to suit all budgets. We love Sa Galera - a rural but classy hotel with a great restaurant. |
