Oh Dihrams! I forgot my Fez!

Marrakech Marrakech! ‘Welcome to Marrakech’ is probably the nicest thing about the no frills flights you’ll find to Morrocco. But the less than charming flights are probably the only thing that’s wrong with this beautiful North African country.

If you want to avoid the habitually trumpeted traditional European holiday destinations this year, Marrakech is the place to go. And because of the current climate economically, Morrocco is also a sound investment financially too.

Stay at one of Marrakech’s amazing Riad’s. In price order depending on your wallet size, try these three on. Riyad al Moussika www.Riad-al-moussika ma, Riad Bayti riad-bayti.com and Hotel Sherazade hotelsherazade.com. The first one costs £240pp per night but is really worth the extra dough even if you only stay for a night or two. It’s a former wine merchant’s house converted with Italian chic in mind. The second costs a princely $70pp per night and is more of an older couples getaway type place, hidden down back streets but not too far to walk to amenities for old and tired legs. The third is a measely 22 quid a night so will probably be aiming for the students amongst us, its basic but it does the job.

A Morroccan holiday has something to offer everyone, from crazy street artists who ignite the creative flame inside us to charming street hagglers who appear not to care for the money or what it is they are selling but just seem to love arguing about the price of things.
