Paris City Breaks

Just over an hour from London, Paris provides one of the nearest and most popular destinations for a weekend away. Direct flights into Paris can be found cheaply and if you keep an eye on the internet you can pick up great deals.

Accommodation in Paris can be expensive and you can pay a lot for a very small room. Try to decide what location you are looking for and look within that for hotels. St. Germain de Pres is a fantastic spot with a great night life and excellent restaurants and bars. The Latin Quarter is the busiest spot for tourists and there is a great and bustling social scene. If you are looking for a bit more upmarket look for accommodation near Hotel de Ville on the banks of the Seine.

In terms of what to see, the list is almost endless. If you want to ascend the Eiffel Tower, why not go at night and see the magnificent views of Paris by night. The Museum at the Louvre is well worth a visit, but give yourself some time as there is a lot to see. While it may seem a strange thing to visit the cemetery at Père Lachaise is an incredible place and you can visit the graves of Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison.
