St Lucia is one of the most picturesque of the Caribbean Islands and has a number of all inclusive resorts. The island is more mountainous than some of its cousins and offers some beautiful rainforest areas. The language spoken is English and French, although all islanders will be able to converse in English. The local food consists of incredibly fresh fish, fruit and vegetables and unsurprisingly, good local rum is always on the menu.

Once you arrive on the islands you will see the magnificence of the landscape. Why not take a day and do a guided hike up into the rainforest? The stunning white beaches are great for snorkelling and there is fantastic scuba diving.

Most of the resorts offer great all inclusive deals where you will get all your food and drink in the resort, but try to get out to some of the local rum shacks for some rum punch and try some local cuisine. Many local bars and restaurants do their own barbeques and do great pork, chicken and fish dishes. Keep an eye out for the local festivals which are frequently held where you can get a true taste of the island’s food, drink and crafts and lots of dancing and festivities as well. Whatever you do, it’s hard not to enjoy yourself in this tropical paradise.
