Stay in style in San Francisco, without emptying your wallet

Of course you do. Luckily for you I happened to stay at a cracking four star place in one of the best locations in the whole city, and now I'm going to tell you lucky, lucky people all about it.

The Donatello is one block away from Union Square, and offers really good accommodation at various rates and four star service. Which is just as well, seeing as it's a four star hotel. They also have some offers on a the moment, including a cheerily-titled 'Recession Special', which offers rates as low as $99 a night throughout January and March. It's definitely worth taking advantage of, despite the ghoulish moniker. If you happen to have been in the American military you can also get 15% off in their Military Thank You Special, but I'm guessing there aren't any twitching Vietnam vets in my audience.

Anyway, the hotel is very handily placed for all the touristy gubbins, as well as being a very nice place to rest your head, so check it out if you're ever Bayside.
