Outside Bangkok there are a plethora of islands and resorts that are worth visiting. Koh Samui and Phuket in the south are probably the most famous of these and offer visitors a wonderfully tropical location to enjoy the sun, sea and sand. The north of the country is famous for its dense jungles where tourist can enjoy a range of activities such as elephant riding and orienteering.
