The best part of Tuscany is undoubtedly the magnificent city of Florence. There is so much to see here that it is impossible to even summarise the best sites. Needless to say you can’t visit Florence without seeing Michelangelo's David in the Galleria dell'Accademia delle Bella Arti. One of the most famous statues in the world, it is well worth a special trip. Apart from the museums, there are some incredible architectural sites around every corner so instead of following the tourist trail too closely, if you just wander around this magnificent city you will be amazed at what you see.

You should bear in mind that Tuscany is busy all year round, especially Florence, so you are well advised to travel during the early Spring or Autumn if possible. Prices also rocket during the summer months. We also recommend getting out of the city and visiting some of the smaller towns and villages to get a true taste of Tuscan life and food.
