Winter Holidays

Why not enjoy a Canadian winter this year and head to Montreal? Massive amounts of snow, skiing, music, and relaxed living make up a Montrealer's way of life, and the wintry atmosphere will appeal to people not used to a snowy climate. So wrap up in warm clothes, get out there and enjoy all that Montreal has to offer.

For avid snow enthusiasts, there are literally thousands of routes for every type of winter activity - snowmobiles, cross-country skiing, dog-sled runs and snowshoeing tracks. Cafes are loaded with people blowing the steam from their hot drinks before making their way to the slopes, and frosty windows, crisp clean air and fresh faced locals all bring a romantic sparkle to the cityscape. Check out Inghams for some great Montreal ski deals.

There are also bags of culture to be found in the French speaking city. Check out the 'Basilique Notre Dame de Montrea', a stunning 17th century church located on the rue Notre Dame W, Place d'Armes, or the Olympic Park - designed for the Olympic games in 1976 and now host to concerts and basketball games. If museums are your thing then check out the Centre d'Histoire de Montreal, which traces the history of Montreal from the first Indian settlement to the present day.

So now that you're exhausted from all the activity, time to get a nice meal in a great restaurant. Check out the Parisian 40's themed 'Le Pois Penche' which serves up incredible dishes such as 'Torchon of Foie Gras and Duck Confit' and 'Provencial Mussels.' (Posh eh?) There's also a huge choice of meat and fish dishes, not to mention simpler dishes for the kids. With a genuinely authentic Monteral vibe, 'Le Pois Penche' is not to be missed.

Seeing the cityscape at night lit and bustling with activity, you'll wonder why this was your first visit.... it sure as anything won't be your last.
